Your Questions, Answered
When does Dragon Ball Super: Beerus come out?
It premiered Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 11:15 p.m. JST on Fuji TV in Japan. Crunchyroll streams it the same day in most regions, Netflix releases it October 14 in select regions and October 17 in the US. Episode 1 was also screened early at New York Comic Con on October 8.
Is it a remake or a new story?
A remake. It's an "enhanced edition" reconstruction of the 2015 anime's first three arcs (Battle of Gods, Resurrection 'F', Universe 6) — with re-rendered footage, newly drawn cuts, re-recorded dialogue, and a tighter story edit. Not a brand-new saga, though Toei has confirmed more arcs are coming after this run.
How many episodes will it have?
19 episodes in the first run, airing weekly on Sundays from October 11, 2026 through the February 14, 2027 finale.
Is it on Netflix or Crunchyroll?
Both — this is the first Dragon Ball series to premiere on Netflix US. Crunchyroll is the day-and-date option (Oct 11) in the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia, NZ, South Africa, India and Southeast Asia. Netflix starts October 14 in select regions and October 17 in the US.
Is there an English dub?
Not yet — no dub date has been announced. The series streams in Japanese with English subtitles from day one. The English voices of Beerus (Jason Douglas) and Whis (Ian Sinclair) appeared at the NYCC premiere panel, which suggests the dub pipeline is active, but there's no confirmed date. Full breakdown on the English Dub page — including what's confirmed and what's still TBA.
Do I need to watch the original Dragon Ball Super first?
No. Since Beerus rebuilds the story from the beginning, it's designed as a clean on-ramp. If you've seen the 2015 version, you'll notice the improvements rather than the plot; if you haven't, you're getting the intended "definitive" version of these arcs.
When did Beerus first appear?
Beerus debuted in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, released in Japan on March 30, 2013. His first TV appearance was Dragon Ball Super episode 1 on July 5, 2015.
When is the finale?
Episode 19, the final episode of the first run, is scheduled for Sunday, February 14, 2027 — 19 straight weeks of Sunday broadcasts if no preemptions occur.
