What We Know, What We Don't
| Question | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Is the dub out? | No | Subtitled only on every platform since the Oct 11, 2026 premiere |
| Is a dub date announced? | TBA | Nothing from Toei Animation, Crunchyroll or Netflix |
| Is an English cast attached? | Partly | Jason Douglas (Beerus) and Ian Sinclair (Whis) appeared at the NYCC 2026 panel on Oct 8 |
| Full English cast list | TBA | Only Beerus and Whis have been publicly represented |
| Which platform gets the dub | TBA | Crunchyroll holds the sub simulcast; no dub platform announced |
| Subtitled version | Live | Crunchyroll from Oct 11; Netflix select regions Oct 14, US Oct 17 |
This page is updated the moment an official dub announcement lands. Nothing here is guessed — if a cell says TBA, it is genuinely unannounced.
Will It Be Dubbed?
No one has said yes officially. But four things point the same way:
| Signal | What it tells us |
|---|---|
| English actors already attached | Jason Douglas and Ian Sinclair appeared in person at the NYCC 2026 premiere panel on Oct 8 — you don't staff a panel with English cast for a show that will never be dubbed |
| Track record of the franchise | Every Dragon Ball series since the original has received an English dub; it is one of the most consistently localized franchises in anime |
| The rights holder | Crunchyroll holds international streaming for this simulcast and produces English dubs for its major simulcast slate |
| It's a remake, not new ground | These arcs were already dubbed once in 2015–2017, so script and direction work is largely established |
Honest read: a dub is likely, arguably near-certain eventually — but "eventually" is doing the work in that sentence. No date exists yet, and no date should be treated as real until it's announced.
How Long Do Dragon Ball Dubs Take?
Past performance is the only guide available until an announcement lands — and the range is wide:
| Series | Japanese premiere | English dub arrived |
|---|---|---|
| Dragon Ball Super (2015) | July 2015 | Roughly 18 months later |
| Dragon Ball Daima (2024) | October 2024 | Within weeks |
| Dragon Ball Super: Beerus (2026) | October 11, 2026 | TBA — not announced |
The two data points sit at opposite ends of the range: the 2015 series took about a year and a half, while Daima was dubbed almost immediately. There is no way to narrow Beerus further without an official announcement.
English Cast: Confirmed and Expected
| Character | English voice | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Beerus | Jason Douglas | Appeared at NYCC |
| Whis | Ian Sinclair | Appeared at NYCC |
| Goku, Vegeta and the rest of the cast | — | Not announced |
A reasonable expectation — not a confirmation — is that returning characters keep the English actors who voiced them in the 2015 series, since this is an enhanced remake of material that was already dubbed. Treat any cast list you see elsewhere as rumour until Crunchyroll or Toei publishes one.
Where Would the Dub Stream?
| Platform | Subtitled | Dubbed |
|---|---|---|
| Crunchyroll (most regions) | Live since Oct 11 | TBA |
| Netflix (select regions) | Live since Oct 14 | TBA |
| Netflix (US) | Live since Oct 17 | TBA |
| Prime Video / U-NEXT Japan | Japanese audio only | n/a |
Crunchyroll is the likeliest home simply because it already holds the simulcast, but no platform has said so. See the full platform map on Where to Watch.
Your Questions, Answered
When is the English dub release date?
Not announced. As of October 2026 there is no confirmed dub date from Toei Animation, Crunchyroll or Netflix. The series launched Oct 11, 2026 in Japanese with English subtitles.
Will Dragon Ball Super: Beerus be dubbed?
Officially unconfirmed, but the signals point to yes: the English voices of Beerus and Whis appeared at the NYCC 2026 panel on Oct 8, and every Dragon Ball series to date has received an English dub. Treat it as likely with an unknown date.
Who is in the English dub cast?
Only two roles are publicly represented: Jason Douglas as Beerus and Ian Sinclair as Whis. The remaining cast has not been announced.
Can I watch it in English right now?
Yes — with subtitles. Japanese audio plus English subtitles is available on Crunchyroll since Oct 11, and on Netflix from Oct 14 (select regions) and Oct 17 (US). There is no English audio track yet.
Will the dub be on Crunchyroll or Netflix?
Not announced. Crunchyroll holds the subtitled simulcast and is the most likely candidate, but neither platform has confirmed dub streaming.
How long do Dragon Ball dubs usually take?
Anywhere from weeks to well over a year. Dragon Ball Daima (2024) was dubbed within weeks; the 2015 Dragon Ball Super dub arrived roughly 18 months after its Japanese premiere. Beerus has no announced timeline.
Do I need the dub, or can I start with subs?
Nothing stops you from starting now with subtitles — episodes air weekly and the story is the same either way. If you'd rather wait for English audio, the episode schedule tells you when each one drops.
