Upcoming Dragon Ball Anime
A status board for every Dragon Ball anime Toei has announced — what's airing now, what's next, and what's still years out.
Toei announced the first three at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 40th-anniversary event in January 2026. The strategy is a two-track one: remaster the 2015 Super anime arc by arc, and in parallel animate the manga arcs that never got a TV adaptation.

What each one actually is
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus — airing now
The enhanced remake of the God of Destruction arc that opened the 2015 anime. Newly drawn footage, re-recorded dialogue and a re-edited script that tracks closer to Akira Toriyama's original drafts. It premiered October 11, 2026 on Fuji TV at 11:15 p.m. JST and runs 19 episodes to February 14, 2027.

Golden Frieza Saga — announced, timing unclear
Toei has said the Beerus remaster will be followed by an equivalent treatment of the Golden Frieza Saga (the Resurrection 'F' arc), expected at roughly six episodes. What hasn't been confirmed is whether that lands inside the current 19-episode broadcast run or in a separate one afterwards.
Until Toei says otherwise, treat "2027" as the working assumption and the split between the two arcs as unknown.
The Galactic Patrol — the big one
The main event: the first brand-new Dragon Ball Super anime since 2018, adapting the manga's Moro Arc. Goku and Vegeta join the Galactic Patrol to stop Moro, a sorcerer who consumes the life energy of planets. Slated for late 2027, estimated at 25–26 episodes.
Granolah the Survivor — expected, not announced
The manga arc that follows Moro, introducing Granolah, the Heeters and the return of Black Frieza. It has not been formally announced by Toei — it appears here because it's the clear next candidate and because fans tracking the slate ask about it constantly. Treat 2028 as an informed expectation, not a schedule.
Toei's two-track strategy
After Akira Toriyama's death in March 2024 left the franchise's direction uncertain, Toei used the 40th-anniversary Genkidamatsuri event to lay out a multi-year plan. Two things run in parallel:
The practical effect: Dragon Ball has a scheduled anime pipeline through roughly 2028, rather than the stop-start pattern of the last few years.
